What was your first Cosplay Experience?
I have been making costumes for other for over 14 years in the fitness world. I received an opportunity to make costumes for a publishing company for Comikaze 2013, and when their hired girls did not show up, they asked me to wear my creations. I was very scared as I was never the one to be in the spotlight and always worked well “behind the stage”. So it was very scary but fun at the same time.
How long have you been Cosplaying?
about 1.5 years
Who or What inspired you to take up Cosplaying?
I actually have always been a huge fan of Yaya Han’s work and her admiration for the art of Cosplaying. When I received the opportunity to wear my own costume at Comikaze 2013, I never knew that people would love my work as well.
If you had to pick a favorite Cosplay you have worn or see someone else where What would it be?
This one is super hard and I can’t pick just one!
If you had unlimited funds and resources, what Cosplay would you create?
Anything with super cool armor and weapons. I could design and create weapons all day long!
What advice would you offer others who are aspiring Cosplayers?
Cosplaying is not about looking like a model. Cosplay is your own creation and inspiration of the characters that you personally love. Cosplay is for everyone, regardless of size, gender, and race, and should be about having fun in a safe environment. Do what you love and love what you do.
