Pianity has officially been chosen as one of the co-organisers of MIDƐM+ , the music industry’s must-attend trade show that has been held in Cannes since 1967. MIDƐM+ will be relying on the expertise of Pianity, and the other two co-organisers, Hopscotch and Panda Events .
The event is set to take place in January 2023 in Cannes.
Let’s take a closer look!
Pianity co-organises the new MIDƐM+
Midem, or Marché International du Disque et de l’Édition Musicale, is a music-centred event and trade show that takes place in and around the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in Cannes, France.
And it has now been rebranded to MIDƐM+.
At its core, MIDƐM+ is an international, annual event dedicated to the opinion leaders and decision-makers of the music industry – a place where music makers, cutting-edge technologies, brands and talent come together. It is seen as one of the leading international business events for the music ecosystem.
The newly rebranded MIDƐM+ will be held from 19 to 23 January 2023.
Thousands of artists, musicians, producers, agents, managers, lawyers, executives, entrepreneurs, journalists, and other key figures from the music industry join the event each year. Here are some key figures from one of Midem’s past trade shows (2013):
6,400 PARTICIPANTS
1,350 EXHIBITING COMPANIES
75 COUNTRIES
350 JOURNALISTS
185 START-UPS
50 GIGS
450 ARTISTS
3,000 COMPANIES
150 WORKSHOPS & CONFERENCES
36 NATIONAL PAVILIONS
50,000 SOCIAL NETWORKS FOLLOWERS
But MIDƐM+ is more than just a trade show. The five-day event sees many artists and musicians take to stage to present and showcase their latest work to all. As you can see, in 2013, the event hosted 50 gigs.
As Pianity mentions in their Press Release:
[MIDƐM+] is an augmented, experiential and collaborative festival that places music at the heart of tomorrow’s challenges. A true place of innovation, convergence and gathering of the music, creative industries and Web3 communities, this new model will be punctuated by concerts, showcases, talks, masterclasses, collaborative intelligence workshops, and networking sessions around a professional market.
In order to get everything rolling, Pianity is also launching the MuSee+ (Music Seekers+) community, which will be a business club and think tank for the music industry. The community will initially consist of 100 decision-makers from within the music industry.
As put in its thread on Twitter, Pianity mentions: Based on an NFTmembership from which public and private institutions will benefit for life, these founding members will be responsible for defining the editorial line and DNA of the MIDƐM+.
MIDƐM+ will have three core areas to it:
MIDƐM+ AGORA
MIDƐM+ LIVE
MIDƐM+ ACADEMY
Pianity is not embarking on this adventure alone, and will be working alongside two other co-organisers to bring MIDƐM+ to life:
The first co-organiser is Panda Events – A concert and festival production agency.
And the second is Hopscotch – A global communication group.
