The mutants will continue to battle on as Fox announces that they have renewed freshman series The Gifted for another season on the network.
The series, based on the Marvel X-Men universe has had a strong showing and an even stronger following by fans when it first aired last fall. The announcement that Fox is renewing the series gives fans of the series hope that the plot and cast will continue to grow, possibly bringing in more X-Men heroes and villans into the world.
The series follows a suburban couple and their children who are on the run from the government after the children develop mutant powers. The family gets help, guidance and shelter from an underground network of mutant freedom fighters who help them to survive. The series stars Stephen Moyer, Amy Acker, Natalie Alyn Lind, Percy Hynes White, Sean Teale, Jamie Chung, Emma Dumont, Blair Redmond and Coby Bell.
The Gifted will air its two-hour season finale January 15th on Fox.
