Today, Entertainment Weekly revealed that Rise of the Planet of the Apes and The Gambler director Rupert Wyatt has signed onto directed Gambit starring Channing Tatum. This news comes after Channing Tatum personally spoke with many top level directors for the project including Bennett Miller & Darren Aronofsky. The story will be the first origin story for the X-Men mutant Gambit. Also assuming his time with the Thieves Guild and their war against the Assassin’s Guild within the streets of New Orleans. It’s unknown if Mr. Sinister or the Mutant Massacre will play a part in his origin story. There has also been rumors that Gambit may appear in X-Men: Apocalypse before his origin story both debuting in 2016…
