Batman and Batwoman call in some help from their new recruits Batwing, Spoiler and Orphan to take them on. Barrows’ art is striking and conveys the power and grace of the Dark Knight and his team. The art effectively mixes visual styles with the inking and layout, especially with the leader of this new villain team. The overall story by Tynion continues to flesh out this new group of vigilantes and how they interact with not only Batman, but with each other as well.
Batman and his team get the upper hand as these new villains decide to target 
Stephanie. The attack leaves the young woman shaken and sick as Batman and Batwing converse at the Belfry about their next move. Revelations about these new villains and their direct connections to Batman’s Rogues Gallery are shaping up to send the Dark Knight himself on a journey into his past to uncover this newest mystery before anyone else gets hurt. Part two of ‘The Victim Syndicate’ and its villains are shaping up as a welcome addition to the Batman mythos.
Detective Comics #944 boasts some impressive visuals with a mixture of styles and a story that draws you into its big action scenes and its subtle detective work.
