After days of speculation and articles touting that Ben Affleck’s days as the Dark Knight were winding down, the actor assured fans at SDCC that his Batman would be here for the foreseeable future.
In Hall H, the actor told the crowd, “Batman is the coolest f#%^* part in any universe. I would be a f#%^* ape on the ground for Matt Reeves.” This statement seemingly puts the nail in the coffin of the rumors of strife between the star and the director that was fueled by Reeves’ total rewrite of Affleck and Geoff Johns original script. But Affleck has been flip floppy in the past about The Batman, remember the whole Directing fiasco.
After quashing those rumors, fans were treated to a new trailer for the upcoming Justice League movie which you can see here.
The trailer features a first look at the villain Steppenwolf along with the return of Hippolyta and Themyscira and more dialogue from the film’s stars. There’s plenty of action to be seen and hints at some of the humor as well.
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
Justice League will explode into theaters This November 17th.
