This new update for “Age of Wonders: Planetfall” expands (well, it’s an expansion) upon the story, characters, and how much of the world you can explore. The newest race are called the “Shakarn,” and they are a race of “vicious lizardmen ready to deceive, disrupt, and destroy everything in their path to universal domination.” Sounds like a race of Barbarian Sleestak! Along with the Shakarn, there are the “Therians,” “a mysterious faction of anthropomorphic NPCs who combined their DNA with that of animals to catalyze their evolution.” According to the developer, this can either play in your favor, gaining a friend, or can lead to you making an enemy.
Besides the new characters, there are two new campaign maps to play, as well as a “juggernaut-style game mode where players team up to challenge a single player with a vast empire,” called “Conquered Worlds.” AND! While you’re playing, environmental catastrophes and invasions can plague you at any moment!
Well hot damn, Paradox Interactive! This is quite the expansive expansion!
Age of Wonders: Planetfall and its expansion, Invaders, is available for PC, PS4, XBox One as of now, and will be available for Mac users later one.
