‘Aladdin’ Casting Call Confirms Director Guy Ritchie; Will Shoot In London
Walt Disney Pictures and director Guy Ritchie have begun their open casting search to find actors to portray the live-action versions of Jasmine and the titular hero Aladdin.
Omega Underground has spotted an official casting call for the film and it was provided by MovieCastingCall. It would confirm that Ritchie is indeed directing along with that casting and the film’s production will be taking place in London. However, a production start is not listed here.
It looks like they’re casting local UK actors and those seeking roles must be able to both act and sing. Yet again, confirming the film will indeed be a musical.
Here’s the full casting call below.

Filming will take place in London and all talent must have legal eligibility requirements to work in the United Kingdom in the entertainment industry.
MTV Movie Awards winner Guy Ritchie will be directing “Aladdin” from an adapted screenplay written by Grammy Award nominee John August based on the animated classic, about a street urchin who vies for the love of a beautiful princess, and uses a genie’s magic power to make himself off as a prince in order to marry her. Max Keene will co-produce with Dan Lin. Lin Pictures president Jonathan Eirich will serve as executive producer.
