Han Solo movie news was very slim during Star Wars Celebration this past weekend.
However, directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller were on hand during the panel.
They also finally made it official that Hail, Caesar! actor Alden Ehrenereich will indeed be playing the young version of Solo in the standalone anthology film. As the actor took to the stage and it was revealed they had tested 3,000 actors for the part with Alden being the first one.
They also revealed that they’ll be spending six months on pre-production development and production design, before it’s shooting start at the end of January or early February in London. Many of the same crew members who worked on both Rogue One and Episode VIII will return to work on the standalone.
Han Solo is set for release on May 25th, 2018.
