‘Alien: Awakening’ Lands Summer 2018 Production Listing; Returning To Australia?

May 15, 2017

Alien: Covenant is coming out very soon but another film is on the horizon.

A new production listing supports recent comments made by director Ridley Scott about getting Alien: Awakening into production in fourteen months, placing the start happening sometime next summer.

“We’re writing [a sequel] now, as we speak. I’ll be filming that within 14 months.” When asked if he planned to resolve unanswered questions about the Alien universe in future movies, Scott explained that the story has been left “wide open” by design: “That’s why I’m doing it, so you’re asking these questions.”

Previously, Scott revealed intentions months back to return production to Australia and even alluded to Awakening taking place between the events of Prometheus and Alien: Covenant.

“It will go Prometheus, Awakening, Covenant.. fairly integral where this colonization ship is on the way….”

It’s most likely that shooting could take place at Fox Studios, Moore Park, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The same studio facility that where Covenant shot, Ridley has been hinting his desire to return to the Australian studio space.
