‘Alien: Awakening’ Set Between ‘Prometheus’ and ‘Covenant’; Ridley Teases Three More Sequels

Mar 21, 2017

Not too long ago it was revealed by Ridley Scott that he had a completed script for an Alien: Covenant sequel and suggested it could be ready to shoot next year (possibly heading back to Australia).

While speaking to Fandango, Scott said the title will be Awakening aka Alien: Awakening.

“There will be another one before we kind of literally and logically, clockwise, back into the rear back head of [the original]Alien.”

He further expanded on the project suggesting it’s set between Prometheus and Alien: Covenant.

“It will go Prometheus, Awakening, Covenant.. fairly integral where this colonization ship is on the way….”

This gives the impression this will be the film that explains what happened with Noomi Rapace’s Shaw and David on the Engineer planet Paradise before the arrival of the colony ship Covenant.

Scott also doubled-down on sequels suggesting there could be at least four more movies after Covenant. Confirming these other sequels won’t be taking place after the original Alien, the link-up might take longer than expected.

“If this is successful, and then the next one, and then there will definitely be three more.”

There’s expectation that Fassbender’s David and Katherine Waterston’s Daniels will be the main focus of these other films. It remains to be seen what will become of Neill Blomkamp’s Alien 5.
