According to our friends at HN Entertainment, Bad Robot’s dramatic thriller ‘Lou’ has found a home at Netflix; Paramount was originally developing the project. Bad Robot made the decision to raise financing to make the movie independently.
The film will star Allison Janney, who got an Academy Award for her performance in ‘I, Tonya.’ Also, she is famous for her role in the CBS series ‘Mom,’ and was recently in the Netflix show ‘F is For Family.’ Next, she has Tate Taylor’s ‘Ma’ (May 31st), the animated ‘The Addams Family’ (October 18th), and the untitled Roger Ailes film (December 20th).
Moreover, the premise is below:
“A young woman and her landlord, Lou (Janney), team up to track down the former’s child after the girl is kidnapped by the woman’s estranged husband. The story is a tonal mix of Thelma and Louise and Taken.”
Further, the director is Anna Foerster (‘Outlander,’ ‘Jessica Jones’). The screenplay is by Maggie Cohn with revisions by Jack Stanley.
Additionally, filming will begin April 20th in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
