Amazon is hard at work developing their upcoming fantasy TV Series based on the Lord of the Rings franchise. The upcoming series will not be a retelling of the War of the Ring story line which was done in the films. They will create original stories but draw inspirations from Tolkien’s other works like The Appendices.
TheOneRing.net has revealed that the very first season of the show will focus on a young Aragorn (Played famously by Viggo Mortensen) as he grows up in Rivendell in secret. Here he is given multiple alias like Estel, Thorongil and eventually Strider to hide his true identity as the King of Gondor. The show could focus on the fall of Númenor and Arnor. Then, eventually the creation and disbandment of the Dunedain Rangers.
