Starz has already greenlit a third season of ‘American Gods,’ not even a full week after the second season’s premiere. However, Charles “Chic” Eglee will be the showrunner for this season, and not Jesse Alexander. Bryan Fuller and Michael Green were co-showrunners of the first season.
Eglee’s resume includes ‘St. Elsewhere,’ ‘The Shield,’ ‘Dexter’,’ The Walking Dead,’ and ‘Hemlock Grove.’ He was a co-creator and writer of the shows ‘The Byrds of Paradise,’ ‘Murder One,’ and ‘Dark Angel.’
Neil Gaiman, executive producer and author of the novel of the same name, had this to say about Eglee on Twitter:
American Gods has a third season and new showrunner. (We've been working together for 3 weeks now, planning Lakeside and beyond.)https://t.co/xkZvBBwBqS

Season two still has seven more episodes left to air, with its finale arriving April 28th.
