We sit down with the team behind online fan convention Justice Con, a three day event celebrating all things Zack Snyder brought to you by super fans Cole, Nana, and Meg.
Geeks Worldwide: Hey there! Just wanted to say congrats on entering year two! With Zack Snyder’s Justice League still hot off release and the trailer for Army of the Dead coming out, it seems that your panels are must see this weekend!!
Who came up with the idea for Justice Con?
Justice Con Team: The idea came from ideas of all three of us (Cole, Meg and Nana). We each added a piece that together made up what Justice Con became.
GWW: After year one’s success, was it easier to plan this event and with a lot of the big names? did you have any special help from a certain guardian angel (director)?
JC: I wouldn’t say it was easier. We had better idea on what needed to be done to make it happen, but there was also the pressure to uphold the standard we set and bring back the event people enjoyed so much. Zack has been a great help also. We wouldn’t be able to do this without his blessing and support.
GWW: Do you think that eventually (when the world reopens) you’ll be able to hold an event in person somewhere?
JC: We aren’t sure. It’s definitely something we’d like to do. A physical convention. But then Justice Con being virtual livestream is what sets us apart. And it gives a chance for people who usually couldn’t visit comic cons to participate in this one. And we like that about JC.
GWW: If you could pick one fantasy draft for a special guest interview from any of Zack’s films who would it be?
JC: Hard to say, but probably anyone from the DC Trinity would be amazing to get one day. (Henry, Ben or Gal)
GWW: Out of all of your guests this year: Dave Bautista, Joe Manganiello, Ray Fisher, Jay Olivia, Zack, and others who are you most excited to chat with?
JC: I think we’re equally excited for all of them. We’re just so honored to have them as guests that it would be hard to choose. We also won’t be the ones to interview many of them as this year we have a great team of hosts to help us out.
GWW: Any big surprises this weekend?
JC: If there are any, we wouldn’t tell you anyway. That would ruin the surprise!!
GWW: How do you come up with the questions or topics you discuss with each guest?
JC: We usually focus on who our guest is as well as the general topic. Like this year some guests are at JC for Zack Snyder’s Justice League while others are there for Army of the Dead. That’s something we keep in mind when putting our questions together.
GWW: What is your favorite Snyder movie?
JC: For Nana the favourite movie is Watchmen. For Meg and Cole it’s BvS.
GWW: Who is your favorite character from any of Zack’s movies?
JC: For Cole it’s Batman. Meg and Nana love Wonder Woman.
GWW: If you could pick one franchise outside of his previous works for Zack to direct what would it be?
JC: That’s a hard question. I think we once spoke on how we’d like to see a western done by him.
GWW: If there is one thing you want the fans of these films to take away from the event, what would that be?
JC: We want them to have a great weekend where they can relax, have fun and connect with the community that shared their love for Zack and his work.
GWW: It’s no doubt that the hosts of the event all have strong social media presence. Any advice for upcoming youtubers, podcasters, content creators?
JC: The only advice we’d give is to do it for yourself first and foremost. Don’t go after views or money, because that doesn’t get you far. Do what you enjoy and do it for fun. The rest will come if you enjoy what you do and put that joy in your content.
GWW: Do you have merchandise available and if so where?
JC: Yes, we do. https://inktothepeople.com/dc-film-fans All proceeds go to AFSP.
GWW: Where can everyone find you on social media?
JC: So our JC socials are @justice_con on twitter and @justicecon on Vero.
Cole and Nana can be found as @TheNerdQueens on literally all social media.
Meg is as @wondermeg_ on twitter and @wondermeg everywhere else.
Justice Con can be streamed this weekend at www.Youtube.com just search Justice Con.
