Our friends over at TrackingBoard report that comedian Randall Park has landed the major role of Asian-America hero Jimmy Woo in Peyton Reed’s Ant-Man And The Wasp.
The character is a legacy hero, as he was first introduced in 1956 at Atlas Comics, a segment of the pre-Marvel company. Other Marvel heroes that started at Atlas included characters like Human Torch and The Sub-Mariner.
Jimmy might have connections to SHIELD, but he also has links to the superheroes like his team the Agents of Atlas. That team happens to include Namor The Sub-Mariner‘s cousin Namora. His introduction could suggest Marvel might tackle Agents of Atlas or support the rumors of Marvel actually developing a Namor solo film. Two projects that could make a lot of sense with Marvel Studios looking at introducing a wave of new heroes for Phase Four and beyond.

Ant-Man and The Wasp is currently shooting in Atlanta until November with a release date of July 6th, 2018.
