Directors Anthony and Joe Russo’s next film ‘Cherry’ will begin filming July 15th in Cleveland, Ohio. The film is an adaptation of the book of the same name.
Also, Tom Holland (‘Spider-Man: Homecoming,’ ‘Avengers: Infinity War’) will play the lead role in the film.
The Russo Bros. are famous for the second and third ‘Captain America’ films, and last year’s ‘Avengers: Infinity War.’ They recently did the follow-up ‘Avengers: Endgame,’ now in theaters. The duo have also become super producers under AGBO. Such projects include ‘Deadly Class,’ ‘The Warriors,’ ‘Little Nightmares,’ and ‘Quantum and Woody.’
The two brothers are producing Chadwick Boseman’s ’21 Bridges,’ releasing July 12th, as well as Netflix’s ‘Dhaka,’ releasing this year.
Additionally, Jessica Goldberg, the creator and writer of Hulu’s ‘The Path,’ wrote the screenplay. She also wrote the script for another AGBO novel adaptation: Morten Tyldum’s ‘Exit West.’
Moreover, the premise is below:
“Paralleling the true life story of the author Nico Walker (Holland), a former Army medic who returns from Iraq with extreme undiagnosed PTSD, falls into opioid addiction and begins robbing banks.”
Further, cinematographer Trent Opaloch will once again join the Russos. Their collaborations comprise of ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier,’ ‘Captain America: Civil War,’ ‘Avengers: Infinity War,’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame.’ He’s also done all of Neill Blomkamp’s films: ‘District 9,’ ‘Elysium,’ and ‘Chappie.’
‘Cherry’ does not have a release date yet.
