‘Aquaman’: James Wan Reels In Longtime Collaborator Patrick Wilson To Play Ocean Master

Dec 12, 2016

There’s hasn’t been a lot of casting news on James Wans Aquaman for a while now, but as we move into 2017 and production on the film starts to ramp up there’s going to be a good few to come.

Closing the year out is the announcement that longtime James Wan collaborator Patrick Wilson, who’s worked with Wan on Insidious 1 & 2 and The Conjuring 1 & 2 has joined the cast of Aquaman.

According to Deadline, Wilson will play Aquaman’s (Jason Momoa) villainous step brother Orm, aka the Ocean Master.

There’s a rivalry between Aquaman and Orm that’s very similar to Marvel’s Thor and Loki’s relationship. With Orm always trying to overthrow his brother to become the King of Atlantis.

This isn’t Wilson first comic book movie either, he’s worked with Man of Steel and Batman V Superman director Zack Snyder on 2009’s The Watchman. He was also part of the Ant-Man cast before the departure of Edgar Wright. Wilson dropped out shortly after citing scheduling conflicts.

So with Wilson joining the cast, he joins Jason Momoa, Amber Heard and Willem Dafoe.

Solid casting choice for the role. What do you think about Wilson’s casting as Ocean Master?

Aquaman hits screens October 5, 2018.
