Sep 22, 2016

Bradford Young is easily one of the hottest cinematographers at the moment after shooting stunningly beautiful films such as The Most Violent Year, Selma and the upcoming sci-fi flick Arrival, we expected he’d start getting calls for blockbuster work.

Now, Variety has revealed that Young will be the director of photography on the Star Wars spinoff movie Han Solo, working alongside directors Chris Miller and Philip Lord. This is being confirmed by a tweet by Miller.

Alden Ehrenreich is in the role of the younger Han Solo, with casting search still in motion looking actors to play a young Lando Calrissian. The female lead said to be an actress of color and it’s assumed the character could be Han’s possible ex-wife Sana Solo.

Production on the film is said to begin this January-February in London, with a release date set for May 25th, 2018.
