Disney has revealed that Black Panther has officially crossed the billion-dollar mark on Saturday (via Box Office Mojo).
The news while impressive isn’t terribly shocking as we made similar projections last week on Twitter.
Panther has become the most successful superhero solo debut film and now the second highest grossing MCU film domestically and looking to bump-off Civil War and Iron Man 3 to become the third highest MCU earner worldwide.
It’s also expected to crack the Top 20 all-time global earners by Monday.
How much more Black Panther can add-on to its billion-dollar box office depends on how many theatres are willing to keep it playing on screens between now and April.
