The list of protocols and projects that RedStone Finance is powering with its fully customisable Oracle data feeds is ever-increasing. Now RedStone Finance has made the announcement that their feeds will be fully usable by Aurora , the bridge built on the NEAR Protocol.

The announcement means that users and developers on the Aurora Protocol will be able to receive data feeds on over 1,100 assets currently supported by RedStone Finance. In this article, we are going to take a look at what the Aurora Protocol is, what it does, and what RedStone Finance’s integration means for its ecosystem.

Let’s dive in!

Aurora

Aurora is an Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) built on the NEAR Protocol that provides Ethereum compatibility, Layer-2-like speed and scalability, and low transaction costs for its users. Specifically – according to the Aurora website – it provides:

~1-second Average block time

~2-second Transaction finality

~$0.02 Transaction cost

Users and developers can easily bridge between or send within Ethereum, NEAR, and Aurora via the Rainbow Bridge  and take advantage of all the benefits.

Aurora operates independently from NEAR Protocol, and is a self-funded initiative, but  “[…] will continue to leverage the shared team DNA and continually evolving technology of the NEAR Protocol”.

There are over 227 projects currently utilising the Aurora Protocol, from DAOs, DeFi protocols and Exchanges all the way to Gaming dApps and NFTs. See the complete list of projects on Aurora here . Aurora’s wide reach has resulted in it accruing a large number of assets locked within its ecosystem’s projects, with a Total Value Locked – at the time of writing – of roughly $71M .

Ethereum developers will be happy to know that Aurora supports all the tools available to them within the Ethereum ecosystem, including (but not limited to):

MetaMask

Truffle

Hardhat

Remix

And more.

The Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) that governs the Aurora Protocol is the AuroraDAO . It is made up of a Council of holders who vote on important decisions regarding the network’s operations and incentives, and authorise and  “direct subordinate organizations to achieve those objectives”.

Integrating RedStone Finance into Aurora

As is the case with any project that integrates RedStone Finance’s Oracle data feeds into its protocol, Aurora and its ecosystem of users, developers, and dApps will now have access to fully customisable Oracle data feeds. The RedStone Finance Oracle currently provides data for over 1,100 assets including crypto, NFTs, equities, commodities, on-chain reputation information, and much more.
