Gareth-Dunnet Alcocer has been tapped by DC and WB to pen the screenplay for a Jaime Reyes/Blue Beetle solo movie. Zen Formen is set to produce the film for Warner Bros.
Jaime Reyes first appeared during the Infinite Crisis saga back in 2006. Jaime was the third person to take up the name Blue Beetle, but the first to have actual superpowers. Over the years, he has appeared in multiple shows and animated movies, as well as having his own solo book three times. A TV series focused on the character was in development back in 2010, with Geoff Johns spearheading the project. Test footage was filmed and released, but; sadly, nothing ever came after that.
