Overview:

As the tenants delve deeper, the dangers escalate. Traps, snakes, and poison gas challenge this resilient group of characters. The enigmatic masked figures, familiar from previous installments, return with a chilling new ability—they can assume the likeness of your loved ones. However, their motives remain shrouded in mystery. Additionally, we discover that Isaac is on a quest to find Felix. Isaac also seems to know a lot more about this “realm” than any of the other tenants.  The issue ends with the group finding themselves in a hauntingly familiar place.

Review:

BONE ORCHARD MYTHOS is an exceptional series that adeptly captivates and maintains the reader’s attention. “Tenement” stands out as the pinnacle of the series. Lemire and Sorrentino have woven a narrative within a world that exudes a surreal, almost disorienting quality, yet just enough coherence to comprehend the characters’ predicament, or at least leave you feeling as though you’ve gleaned a clue. The art seamlessly complements the story, encapsulating a dark, foreboding atmosphere of suspense. Each panel, meticulously arranged from the first to the last issue, immerses the reader, creating a tangible connection to this horrifying realm.

Final Thought:

The series so far is nothing short of brilliant, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to fellow horror enthusiasts. The art and coloring, coupled with the astute and clever writing, leave no room for criticism. While the narrative may progress at a slow pace, a journey is not defined by a single step. I eagerly anticipate the next installment hitting the shelves.
