Early review’s of Bryan Singer’s latest X-men effort: X-men Apocalypse out this Memorial Day weekend have been subpar, the director that first brought Marvel’s merry band of mutants to the big screen is already looking toward the team’s next endeavor.

I am not expecting X-men Apocalypse to be one of the best film’s in fox’s X-men Franchise, I hope one bad outing by Singer does not sour film goers on his take on the X-men. Overall Singer has not given us one bad X-men film, and if wasn’t for him taking on the project of the original X-men film back in 2000, who knows if we would have the superhero media we have today. Singer accepted the project that now looks like a no brainer with the first X-men film, but that came at a time when Batman was considered the only bankable on screen superhero and that characters last film had been a flop in Joel Schumacher’s Batman and Robin. The director was able to take one of America’s most beloved comics and adapt into a viable and grounded franchise that paved the way for Sony’s Sam Raimi Spider-Man series.
