To get my bias out of the way I will admit that I have played EVERY Call of Duty game since the original came out on PC in 2003. I’ve played them when they changed storylines. I played them when they switched publishers. I followed Call of Duty to every iteration and each time I wondered when they were going to go back to World War II. Now they have gone back to that war in a huge way.
Today saw the launch of the new trailer for the next game in the Call of Duty series. Titled simply Call of Duty: WWII, publisher Activision has released a new trailer with in-game footage from the new game that you can watch below.
As you can see, the newest iteration of the hit franchise takes a violent, bloody look at that time in history and includes an impressive cast including Josh Duhamel (Transformers: The Last Knight). You step into the role of a Private in the “Bloody 1st” Division on D-Day. The single player campaign will feature an immersive story that has your character on the front lines of the D-Day invasion as well as working with the French Resistance. According to Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg, this is the Call of Duty fans “had been waiting to see.”
