Marvel Studios dropped a new trailer for the third Ant-Man film: Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. This latest superhero film promises to deliver “strange new creatures”s and action. With the release date of February 17th quickly approaching, we wanted to get you up to speed on the newest Ant-Man cast. Prefer the Flip Thru?

While we will see many familiar faces, such as Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, and Michael Douglas, be ready for some famously fresh ones like Michelle Pfeiffer and Kathryn Newton to grace the quantum realm. This Quantumania cast could deliver a stellar film.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe and Marvel Studios keep getting bigger

Marvel Thrills with New Film

Ant-Man and the Wasp are part of the larger MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe). Ant-Man got his start between the pages of Tales to Astonish in 1962 and has changed hands many times. The first Ant-Man movie starts with Scott Lang as the well-meaning, if not misguided, thief. His life is tanking when he discovers shrinking technology introduced by the original Ant-Man Hank Pym.

Paul Rudd as Scott Lang

We meet wayward thief Scott Lang cinematically in the first ant man movie, trying to be a present dad while feeling his options are limited. Enter Hank Pym, introducing Scott to shrinking technology and the Ant-Man suit promising to change his life forever. This is partly true, at least as he winds up under house arrest.

Kathryn Newton as Cassie Lang

The quantum realm continues to be a family affair. Cassie Lang, played by Kathryn Newton, joins her dad for huge action in a tiny setting.

Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne

She’s back! Evangeline Lilly plays Hope Van Dyne as The Wasp. Ever the enigma, Hope, in the third film, will don the suit once more. Would the Ant-Man movies be the same without Hope and her snarky ways?

Michael Douglas as Hank Pym and Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet Van Dyne

Hope’s parents, Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne, are reunited by the end of the second installment and return for the third Ant-Man film.

Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conquerer

Oh, you’re an Avenger. Have I killed you before?

Kang is not a new character. He’s frequently seen fighting against his favored enemies: The Avengers and The Fantastic Four. This is his cinematic debut setting up Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.

What are the consequences of Quantumania? WIll Scott Lang make it out alive? How does this set up future phases of the MCU? These are questions that I have after watching the latest trailer for Ant-Man 3. The scope of the movie seems as large or bigger than some of the biggest the MCU has to offer. The emotional beats hit hard. The family dynamic look solid. Johnathan Majors Kang seems like the prefect villain to spearhead the future of the MCU. The smallest hero in the MCU has one of the biggest movies releases of 2023.
