A new report is claiming that actor Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years A Slave, Children of Men, American Gangster) will indeed play Doctor Strange villain Baron Mordo, opposite Benedict Cumberbatch’s Stephen Strange. Mordo is Strange’s iconic mystical rival and enemy, which should be a nice turn since we were expecting him to take a supporting role as possibly Wong or Brother Voodoo. There had been some speculation that Daniel Bruhl’s Zemo could be crossing over into Strange.
Tilda Swinton had recently landed the role of The Ancient One who mentors both Strange and Mordo, it’ll be interesting to see if Mordo starts off as a villain or develops into one by the end of the film.
Doctor Strange is set for release in November 2016 and will shoot this fall in the UK.
