Its October and that means Halloween is almost here. In honor of my favorite holiday of the year I give to you my top thirty horror movies. Now some of these films might be on every list, but some might not. I might even have a film or two that you have never heard of. Just remember this is my top thirty. In other words these films made me cringe or just sent chills up my spine. So with no further ado here is my list.

The Blair Witch Project (1999)
Directed by: Daniel Myrick & Eduardo Sanchez
In 1998 I found a website called blairwitch.com . On this website you got to read police files pertaining to missing children. Also on it was news reel footage of reporters on the field in Burkittsville, Maryland talking about the three missing student filmmakers. When the website updated and said they found a film roll with footage of the three filmmakers I became excited and fell for this media propaganda stunt.
I was at the first showing for this film and as I sat in the theater and watched the three students start their journey to the Black Hills I was on the edge of my seat. The handheld camera that Heather, Joshua, and Mike used to film this made it even more believable. As they venture further and further into the forest and hear stories from crazy locals you really start to feel for these kids. The story just builds and builds and comes to a great big crescendo of an ending. I just remember sitting there after the film was over and just feeling shocked that I just witnessed something terrible. I know a lot of people do not like this film but as you can see I fell for the hype and I am so glad I did. It made for one hell of a ride.
