It’s October and that means Halloween is almost here. In honor of my favorite holiday of the year I give to you my top thirty horror movies. Now some of these films might be on every list, but some might not. I might even have a film or two that you have never heard of. Just remember this is my top thirty. In other words these films made me cringe or just sent chills up my spine. So with no further ado here is my list.

Let The Right One In (2008)

Put on your reading glasses. Unless you know Swedish you will have to read the subtitles to enjoy this awesome horror movie. Let me tell Let The Right One In is totally worth it. Their is an American version minus the subtitles called “Let Me In” but compared to the original its a big disappointment. Sweden in the winter already has a creepy feel to it. Now add a couple of kids in a vampire story and you have one great, enjoyable movie. This is not your new modern teenager who sparkles kind of vampire movie. It has a great story you can really sink your teeth into with an edginess that will have you craving blood.
In a city outside of Stockholm we meet a boy named Oskar. Oskar is an outcast and the boy who all the other kids in school pick on.
One day while playing on the jungle gym outside of his house at night he meets a young girl named Eli. They strike up a great friendship. Eli is someone who Oskar can actually be a kid with. He opens up to her and you get to see what a great friends they can be to each other. Now Eli is not you normal average girl. She is a vampire and encourages Oskar to stand up for himself. The other great story-line in this movie involves Eli’s Dad but I am going to stop right here so I don’t spoil it.
I absolutely love this movie. Most people have probably not even heard of it, and I hope by it being in my top ten I can turn some people onto it. Now I know reading a movie is not everyone’s cup of tea, but do me a favor please put aside any doubts and give it a gander. I believe you will love it as much as I do.
