CinemaCon 17: Walt Disney Studios Panel

Kicking off the final panel for Tuesday was Walt Disney Studios. While the panel itself was less than 15 minutes long they did go over all 5 of their major subsidiaries. Which included Walt Disney Animation, Pixar, Disney Live-Action, Marvel and Lucasfilm. Showcasing that 4 out of the 5 subsidiaries each had a film in 2016 cross $1 billion dollars worldwide.

Kicking off the show the studio debuted a sizzle reel for all of their top films of 2016 wich extremely small glimpses of 2017. They did show about 2 seconds for Star Wars: The Last Jedi which showcased Rey (Daisy Ridley) handing Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) his lightsaber. As well as her turning on the same lightsaber in another scene. They also showed another sneak peek of Thor: Ragnarok which showed the God of Thunder (Chris Hemsworth) with his new short haircut for the film.

They also announced the title to the long-awaited Wreck-It Ralph sequel will be called Ralph Breaks the Internet. They also talked about more films in their upcoming slate including Disney Natures Born in China.

They closed out the panel with a special presentation of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. While we are currently under embargo both Brendon Wagner and myself did give our first impressions on the film which can be viewed below. For more updates from CinemaCon go HERE.
