To finish off another great year at CinemaCon in Las Vegas Lionsgate ended the week. While the presentation was not very long they did show some clips and trailers for some of their larger films. The opened their presentation with a montage of their past films like Kick-Ass and The Hunger Games. After which the studio mentions they currently don’t have any footage or behind-the-scenes videos to show for their current projects Midway and Rambo: Last Blood.
However, David Harbour does come on stage to promote Hellboy which hits theaters later this month. Next, director Chad Stahelski and star Halle Berry take the stage o showcase a scene from John Wick 3. The footage shown includes a fight sequence which included John’s new attack dogs. The stunt choreography with the dogs is absolutely top notch.
After this footage was shown the studo turned to their faith-based films with I Still Believe. The story of a young singer/songwriter Jeremy Camp. The studio also revealed that Riverdale star KJ Apa would be playing Jeremy Camp in the film.
And finally, Jamie Lee Curtis and director Rian Johnson take the stage to promote Knives Out. The first look footage shown on this mystery project shows that the film will take inspiration from Clue and Murder on the Orient Express. Christopher Pullmer’s character is murder on this family’s estate and everyone in the family is a suspect to Daniel Craig’s character. With Chris Evans telling each member of the family to “Eat shit”. Something that garnered laughs from everyone in the CinemaCon crowd.
Lastly, the studio screened an early look at the Seth Rogan and Charlize Theron romantic comedy Long Shot.
And that is it from CinemaCon 2019! Check back next year for more…
