Universal and Blumhouse’s upcoming film ‘The Hunt’ now has Betty Gilpin in the cast. Emma Roberts, Justin Hartley, Glenn Howerton, and Ike Barinholtz recently came aboard the politically-charged thriller.
Gilpin is currently starring in the Netflix series ‘GLOW,’ which recently wrapped its third season. She was recently in the Star series ‘American Gods,’ and Todd Strauss-Schulson’s ‘Isn’t It Romantic.’ This year, she has Gail Mancuso’s ‘A Dog’s Journey,’ releasing May 17th, and Michael Dowse’s ‘Stuber,’ releasing July 12th. Next year, she has Nicolas Pesce’s ‘Grudge’ remake, releasing January 3, 2020.
Meanwhile, ‘The Hunt’ is from director Craig Zobel (‘American Gods,’ ‘Westworld’). The screenplay is from Damon Lindelof (‘Lost,’ HBO’s ‘Watchmen’) and Nick Cuse (‘The Leftovers,’ ‘Maniac’). All three were part of ‘The Leftovers.’
Moreover, the premise of ‘The Hunt’ is below:
“A subversive feature that takes its cues from the current political climate in America — elevating the current conflict between right and left wings to a more extreme, and violent, level.”
Further, the film releases October 18th, going up against ‘Maleficent: Mistress of Evil,’ as well as UAR’s ‘The Addams Family.’
