Universal and Blumhouse’s upcoming film ‘The Hunt’ now has some actors onboard! Emma Roberts, Justin Hartley, and Glenn Howerton are the first to join the politically-charged thriller.
Roberts is famous for her roles in the Ryan Murphy shows ‘American Horror Story’ and ‘Scream Queens.’ She was recently in the eighth season of the former, and will be in the upcoming ninth season of the FX series. She will also be in STX Entertainment’s ‘Uglydolls,’ releasing May 3rd.
Hartley is currently in the wildly popular Golden Globe winning NBC series ‘This Is Us.’ He will be in the upcoming Universal film ‘Little,’ releasing April 12th. Another film he’s a part of is CBS Films’ ‘Lexi,’ which does not have a release date yet.
Howerton is juggling roles in the ongoing FXX series ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ and the NBC series ‘A.P. Bio.’ As for other series, he was in the FOX/Hulu series ‘The Mindy Project,’ as well as the first season of FX’s ‘Fargo.’ He will be in Charlie Day’s directorial debut ‘El Tonto,’ which is TBD.
Meanwhile, ‘The Hunt’ is from director Craig Zobel (‘American Gods,’ ‘Westworld’). The screenplay is from Damon Lindelof (‘Lost,’ HBO’s ‘Watchmen’) and Nick Cuse (‘The Leftovers,’ ‘Maniac’). All three were part of ‘The Leftovers.’
Moreover, the premise of ‘The Hunt’ is below:
“A subversive feature that takes its cues from the current political climate in America — elevating the current conflict between right and left wings to a more extreme, and violent, level.”
Further, the film releases October 18th, going up against ‘Maleficent: Mistress of Evil,’ as well as UAR’s ‘The Addams Family.’
