The next ‘Fantastic Beasts,’ the third installment in the Warner Bros. franchise, now has an official release date: November 12, 2021.
Filming will now begin spring 2020, after the shoot start got a push from this July to late fall 2019. More time was needed for pre-production, hence the delays. They will be shooting at Warner Bros. Leavesden Studios in the United Kingdom.
The premise of the franchise is below:
In the ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ series, Magizoologist Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne), a collector and tamer of mystical beasts, makes his way through the secret wizard communities of New York, Paris and London during the late 1920s.
The cast also comprises of Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, and Dan Fogler. Johnny Depp played the role of the titular villain in the previous installment, while Jude Law came aboard to play young Albus Dumbledore.
There are not many details on the third film, other than the fact the film will address a lot of unanswered plot questions.
David Yates will still direct the threequel, while the screenplay is once again from J.K. Rowling.
Meanwhile, composer James Newton Howard (‘The Dark Knight’ trilogy) and supervising art director Martin Foley (‘Hugo’) will both return.
Also, it seems that production designer Stuart Craig and cinematographer Philippe Rousselot could be returning. Craig has been the production designer of all the ‘Harry Potter’ and ‘Fantastic Beasts’ films. Rosselot has shot the Guy Ritchie ‘Sherlock Holmes’ films, ‘The Nice Guys,’ as well as the first and second ‘Fantastic Beasts’ films.
There are currently no other films set for November 12, 2021.
