There are few producers that are as busy as Greg Berlanti. The super (no pun intended) producer behind Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow and the upcoming Archie reboot Riverdale has been tapped by Warner Brothers to direct a remake of the Roger Corman cult classic Little Shop of Horrors for the big screen.
The original 1960 film was about a young man who discovers that the exotic plant that he has been taking care of is in fact carnivorous and he has to kill to keep it fed. The highlight of the film was that it was one of the first film appearances of Jack Nicholson.
A musical version of the movie was produced off Broadway and turned into a feature film in 1986 starring Bill Murray, Steve Martin and Rick Moranis.
Little is know about which version Berlanti will be directing, but the screenplay is being written by Matthew Robinson. Robinson is the writer of the upcoming film Monster Trucks for Paramount.
