DC Comics ‘Black Lightning’ Moves From FOX to The CW

Feb 3, 2017

Yesterday, Deadline revealed that Greg Berlanti’s upcoming adaptation of DC Comics Black Lightning has moved from its place at FOX to The CW. This will mark yet another DC property on the Warner Brothers owned network which already includes Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. As well as CW Seed’s Vixen and Constantine which has been confirmed as canon.

Fox went on to say that they show simply doesn’t fit with their current lineup which includes Gotham and Lucifer:

“that the superhero show was not a good fit into its already crowded genre drama space that includes the DC/WBTV series Gotham and Lucifer, Seth MacFarlane’s upcoming space dramedy, and two pilots, the X-Men-themed drama written by Matt Nix and The Passage, all from 20th TV.”

It is assumed that the show will now be a part of the every growing DCTV “Arrowverse” however that has yet to be confirmed. Last week we at Omega Underground also revealed that the pilot will start shooting in March.

Black Lightning will now debut on The CW
