Heaven forbid one good thing happen to DC’s heroes under Tom Taylor’s watch without at least two more bad things popping.
It looked like Zatanna was done for after DCeased #2. Then the second you open DCeased #3, she’s back in the mix. Of course, it didn’t come without a cost — though it’s hardly a trade DC fans would think about twice.
But that still doesn’t mean Zatanna survives this whole ordeal. I’m not convinced John Constantine does either — he always finds a way, but with Taylor writing a separate three-issue Black Label Hellblazer book, maybe he takes advantage of this opportunity to do something different and finally put DC’s greatest con man on ice.
(WARNING: Spoilers for DCeased: Dead Planet #3 ahead.)
An army of Amazos? Really? As if there wasn’t enough of a mess.
Again, don’t know how most of the major characters in this story survive. They have to much crap staring them right in the face, while manifests in the background.
One great thing about the army of Amazos, though, is we should get at least one epic battle from Trevor Hairsine, who continues to give us some amazing artwork. Everything he did with the Anti-Life Plastic Man was great. Gross, but great.
I do wonder what kind of end he and Taylor have planned for all those Amazos. There’s no way Penguin and his people win this fight, regardless of what he’s got waiting for the zombies and the heroes, but I do wonder if everyone loses at the end of all this.
