There is a strong expectation that we’ll learn who is playing Cable in Deadpool 2 and X-Force during the 20th Century Fox presentation at CinemaCon taking place tomorrow.
ComicBook was able to get a quote about the Cable casting from director David Leitch during his promotion of his upcoming action flick Atomic Blonde at CinemaCon. David confirms that they indeed met with Brad Pitt for the role of Cable at one point. Although, it sounds like he has indeed passed as previously rumored.

JoBlo also spoke to Leitch at CinemaCon but they were able to get him to comment on another Cable candidate Michael Shannon.
“You know, I think, Michael Shannon, that name speaks for itself, he’s an incredible actor and he can accomplish anything. Yeah, I’m passionate about him as an actor and, look, he would make an incredible Cable. If that happens, I would be through the roof that I get to work with another incredible actor. I can’t say that it’s going to happen because we’re looking – the list is what the list is. But, yeah, I have nothing but great things to say about him and I’m a huge, huge fan.”
As Omega Underground has previously uncovered, Deadpool 2 begins filming this June in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
