‘Deadpool’ Creator Wants Jon Hamm To Play ‘Cable’

Jan 11, 2016

Comic book artist and creator Rob Liefeld is known for having a huge presence on social media, strong interactions with his followers on Twitter, a big mouth, and varied opinions concerning the upcoming Fox slate of X-Men films.

His newest opinion comes on the heels of the Golden Globes, where he stated that Mad Men‘s Jon Hamm would be his “casting dream” for the role of Cable.

Fox has been trying to figure out for years how to introduce the character into the cinematic franchise.

We’ve learned from Deadpool director Tim Miller Cable was once apart of the film, but was replaced with Colossus. Miller also admitted that they’re strongly considering using him in the sequel. He was once apart of the X-Force lineup for Jeff Wadlow’s script, but according to Liefeld X-Men: Apocalypse makes that script useless. There’s been some expectations that he could somehow apart of Josh Boone’s New Mutants film as well.

I previously suggested Hamm for the role of Mister Sinister and Frank Castle a while back, since he plays charming assholes which fits Sinister well.
