What was your first Cosplay experience?
My first Cosplay experience was at a con which was held here in Mexico City, I was cosplaying as Vanessa from King of Fighters. I was really amazed about how many people were cosplaying as well. It was really fun.
How long have you been Cosplaying?
Since 2008.
Who or what inspired you to take up Cosplaying?
Even though I enjoyed cosplaying, I wasn’t really so into it until I first saw Francesca Dani at a convention. I became a really big fan and started to take sewing classes with a particular teacher. Years later I saw Kamui Cosplay’s armor tutorials on YouTube, and I started to practice a lot and tried all mats that she made tutorials about. Currently, she is my favorite Cosplayer and inspires me everyday to become better.
If you had to pick a favorite Cosplay you have worn, or have seen someone else wear, what would it be?
My favorite Cosplay of my own I’d have to say is Asuka from Neon Genesis Evangelion. I made this costume 4 times! Tried lots of fabrics and techniques until I found the perfect fabric and tech. I really love Asuka.
If you had unlimited funds and resources, what Cosplay would you create?
I would create all Saint Seiya armors! I really love every characters’ design from Saint Seiya!!!
What advice would you offer to those who are aspiring Cosplayers?
Just to have fun and never give up, keep practicing until you are satisfied with your work, and remember the only one you have to please with this hobby is yourself.
