After being proposed as a live action series for TNT, it looks like the Greg Berlanti produced series Titans will actually get made for a new network.
DC Entertainment and Warner Brothers television announced today that Warner Brothers is launching a new digital service that is set to launch in 2018. The service will have two shows already slotted for its initial release and one of them will be the Berlanti produced series Titans. Based on the DC Comics property Teen Titans, the series will follow former Batman sidekick Dick Grayson. The synopsis released from the company states:
Titans follows a group of young soon-to-be superheroes recruited from every corner of the DC Universe. The series centers on Dick Grayson (aka Robin of Batman and Robin) as he emerges from the shadows to become the leader of a fearless band of new heroes, including Starfire, Raven and many others.
The series will be executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Akiva Goldsman, DC Entertainment president and chief creative officer Geoff Johns and Sarah Schechter.
With no other casting or production news available at the time of this article, it will be interesting to see which direction they take the live-action series. Will Dick Grayson debut as Robin on the series or will he already be Nightwing? What additional characters will join the cast? Which ones would you like to see? Will the series take place in its own world or be connected to the rest of the Berlanti-verse? Let me know what you think in the comments below.
