SteamWorld Dig 2 is out this Thursday on Nintendo Switch for $19.99, with the PC versions launching just one day later on Steam, GOG, and Humble Store. To celebrate this, developer/publisher Image & Form has released the game’s official launch trailer.
The trailer showcases some of the different worlds, new upgrades, new enemies, thrilling boss fights, and the first-ever look at the game’s UI. It also features custom music by the game’s main composer El Huervo (known for his work in Hotline Miami).
PlayStation fans won’t have to wait long for their fill, as the game hits Sony’s digital stores in America on September 26 and in Europe the day after. Another special feature is that SteamWorld Dig 2 is cross-buy on PlayStation 4 and Vita.
SteamWorld Dig 2 is a 2D platform action-adventure developed and published by Image & Form. Players will take control of Dorothy, a steam-driven robot who uses a pickaxe to create paths through an underground world by mining cubes of ground away.
Besides mining resources and orbs, players will also fight enemy creatures that come on their path. Compared to its predecessor, SteamWorld Dig 2 features an increased focus on platform elements and a Metroidvania-style underground world.
To recap, SWD2 hits…
