Director Christopher McQuarrie Signs Onto Back-to-Back ‘Mission Impossible’ Sequels

Today, it has been announced by Variety that director Christopher McQuarrie has officially signed onto direct the next two installments in the Mission Impossible franchise. The director wrote and directed the last two films which included Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation and Mission Impossible: Fallout. It is also been noted the next two installments will be shot back-to-back to save money for Paramount.

It was also revealed that other studios were looking at locking down McQuarrie for their tentpole films including Warner Brothers. Many fans had hoped McQuirre along with his longtime collaborator Tom Cruise would direct Green Lantern Corps. With Cruise starring as an older Hal Jordan. However, it looks like that will now be impossible.
