Today, StarWars.com announced that Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Star Trek director JJ Abrams will return to direct Star Wars: Episode IX. This comes off of last weeks announcement that Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow had left the project (more accurately fired) based on creative differences he had with the studio.
JJ Abrams will also help co-write the upcoming sequel along with Justice League screenwriter Chris Terrio. Which will come as a massive surprise and a bit of excitement from DC fans. Production on the sequel is expected to begin January 2018.
