Two Disney+ reboots may just have production dates, according to Discussing Film. The reboot of ‘Cheaper by the Dozen’ is aiming to begin filming on July 13th. The ‘Turner & Hooch’ series is eyeing an April 27th start.
This new take on ‘Cheaper by the Dozen’ is from ‘Black-ish’ and ‘Grace and Frankie’ director Gail Lerner. She will be reteaming with Kenya Barris and Jenifer Rice-Genzuk (‘Black-ish’ and ‘Grown-ish), as they wrote the screenplay.
The four-film franchise is based on the semi-autobiographical novels written by Frank Bunker Gilbreth Jr. and Ernestine Gilbreth Carey, which recount the authors’ childhood lives growing up in a household of 13 children.
Meanwhile, there are no cast-members onboard at the moment.
The ‘Turner & Hooch’ series is from writer Matt Nix (‘Burn Notice,’ ‘The Gifted’). He serves as the pilot scribe for the developing show.
The reboot is based on the 1989 movie of the same name, starring Tom Hanks, which followed Detective Scott Turner, who reluctantly takes in the large, slobbery dog Hooch, following the murder of his longtime friend and the dog’s owner.
However, this project also has no actors cast, or any directors attached.
There are currently no release dates for either ‘Cheaper by the Dozen’ or ‘Turner & Hooch.’
