‘Dune’ is getting ready to add two more cast members: Oscar Isaac and Zendaya. Isaac would play Duke Leto Atreides, the father of Paul Atreides (Timothee Chalamet). Zendaya would play Chani, Paul’s love interest.
According to Variety, Isaac is in final negotiations, while Collider reports Zendaya is in early talks.

Zendaya broke out in the film side of acting with the 2017 hits ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ and ‘The Greatest Showman.’ Her next projects include Sony and Marvel Studios’ ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home,’ releasing July 5, and HBO’s ‘Euphoria,’ set for later this year.
Moreover, the remaining cast and their roles, excluding the aforementioned Chalamet:
- Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica Atreides
- Stellan Skarsgard as Baron Harkonnen
- Dave Bautista as the Baron’s nephew Rabban Harkonnen
- Charlotte Rampling as Reverend Mother Mohiam
Denis Villeneuve’s reboot of Frank Herbert’s ‘Dune’ will begin filming this March. As a result, they will shoot in Budapest, Hungary, at Origo Films Studios and various parts of Jordan. In fact, Origo Films Studios marks a return for Villeneuve, who made ‘Blade Runner 2049’ there.
Further, the screenplay is by Villeneuve, Eric Roth (‘Forrest Gump,’ ‘A Star is Born’) and Jon Spaihts (‘Prometheus,’ ‘Doctor Strange’).
However, Legendary has yet to officially give the film a release date.
