“I told you guys there was loot!”
Thanks for coming back after out break. The players have been hard at working leveling up from their last session that was anticlimactic in their eyes. Salazar (evil bad guy) got away and they were no closer to finding a solution. However they do have the lockbox that is heavily enchanted and potentially deadly. They also have several small dragons by their side as allies. The only stipulation is that they can ask each of the dragons for one favor (fight with them, answer a question, fix an item, enchant an item and so on).
Also with the start of the new session, I dish out physical hardware that will serve as loot gained. The cleric of the party gains a smoking pipe like Gandalf, the fallen paladin earns the right to hold the dragon flute that will call out the dragons when needed, and the ranger gains a spyglass that can see through wood and structures to provide expert sight.
Missing from this session was our druid. I left him as an NPC that traveled with the group and provided support (and transportation).
The party still has their Rings of Tiamat, but before they face Salazar again, they must kill his soul as he has become a lich lord.
