Eli Roth To Direct Bruce Willis In ‘Death Wish’ Remake

Jun 21, 2016

Eli Roth is set to direct the notoriously hostile Bruce Willis in the MGM/Paramount remake of the classic Charles Bronson franchise Death Wish according to Deadline.

Roth is best known for his horror films such as Cabin Fever, Hostel, Knock Knock and The Green Inferno. There is a bit of an edge to the revenge thriller and it wouldn’t hurt to have someone proficient in practical special effects handling the hyper-violet action sequences, but then again, this will be Roth’s first attempt at the action genre.

There have been two previous sets of directors before Eli, so I won’t be terribly shocked if Eli ends-up leaving as well. However, being a professional and having ties to Willis’ Pulp Fiction director Quentin Taranino might make him a little more malleable than usual to Roth’s advice and direction.

They’ve given the impression production could start-up this summer.
