Exclusive: Richard Kelly has found his next project.
The ‘Donnie Darko’ director is set to write and direct a biopic about the beloved ‘The Twilight Zone’ creator Rod Serling.
Kelly hasn’t released a film since 2009’s ‘The Box’, which was met with abysmal reviews and no audience. Interestingly enough, ‘The Box’ is based on an episode of ‘The Twilight Zone’. He is most well known for the Jake Gyllenhaal-starrer ‘Donnie Darko’, which was critically acclaimed and made a killing at the box office.
Rod Serling had an incredibly interesting life, from his service in WWII to creating the cult classic television series ‘The Twilight Zone’, which tackled political and social issues through the guise of science fiction.
Jason Michael Berman is set to produce through Mandalay Pictures.
