Exclusive: ‘The Maze Runner’ trilogy scribe T. S. Nowlin has been tasked with writing the screenplay for Wes Ball’s ‘Mouse Guard’ adaptation at 20th Century Fox.
Nowlin has likely completed his draft of the screenplay given that filming begins this May. He previously wrote the screenplays for ‘The Maze Runner’ trilogy, as well as co-writing ‘Phoenix Forgotten’ and ‘Pacific Rim: Uprising.’ Nowlin and Ball are frequent collaborators, so it’s no surprise to see his name on here.
Ball is directing with a story treatment from ‘The Book Of Eli’ writer Gary Whitta. Ball previously directed all three ‘Maze Runner’ films. Idris Elba, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Jack Whitehall, and Samson Kayo are attached to star. You can read the premise below.
“Set in a medieval world and tells of an order of mice who are the sworn protectors of their realm. Enemies range from predators such as foxes and eagles to other rodents. A sort of ‘Game of Thrones’ with mice.”
‘Mouse Guard’ does not yet have a release date.
